The hummingbird has a very special meaning to me. Hummingbirds have come right up to me, landed on me and played with me many times and I've rescued them and held one in my hands. Every time in many situations throughout my life when I've needed inspiration, to know I was doing the right thing, they have shown up and continue to. In fact one came up to me a few times in the middle of the desert while I was working on this website.

The hummingbird symbolizes the direction of the north in the Q'ero Inka Tradition of Shamans and Mystics and represents, grandmothers, grandfathers, ancient ones, those who have come before us and those who will come after us.  We ask through Sewacanthe ( Hummingbird) that all of those who came before us and who will come after us to come and warm their hands in our fire (our hearts flame)  and whisper to us in the wind.

Sewacanthe symbolizes joy, healing, good luck, messages from spirits, and other special qualities. It's no surprise that hummingbird symbolism and meaning are important to people around the world. ... While they are tiny beings, hummingbirds pack a lot of powerful, positive energy. In addition, they symbolize accomplishing the impossible and the ability to change direction immediately whenever needed.
